Review: Holden AH.I Astra Twin Top (2006-07)
Overview
Released in December 2006, the Holden AH Series I (AH.I) Astra Twin Top was a two-door convertible with a retractable hardtop roof. Manufactured in Belgium, the front-wheel drive Astra Twin Top was powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that was mated to either a four-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
Z22YH ‘ECOTEC’ engine
The 2.2-litre Z22YH ‘ECOTEC’ four-cylinder petrol engine had an aluminium block and cylinder head, direct fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 12.0:1.
Dimensions
The Astra Twin Top was 4476 mm long, 1831 mm wide, 1411 mm tall and had a 2614 mm long wheelbase. The power-operated, three-piece retractable hard top roof could open or close in thirty seconds; with the roof up, the Astra Twin Top had 440 litres of storage space, though this decreased to 205 litres when the roof was lowered.
Suspension
The Astra Twin Top had MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle.
