Recalls are issued for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Manufacturers or importers seek to inform the original buyer if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. However, manufacturers or importers may not have the contact details of subsequent owners. Please note that the recalls below are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

2023 GWM Tank 300 HEV: adjusting rod for vehicle jack did not meet specifications

In July 2024, recall campaign 88242C2 was issued for 2023 GWM Tank 300 HEV vehicles. For these vehicles, the adjusting rod used to operate the vehicle jack was of incorrect specification and may not function as intended. As such, vehicles may not be compliant with Australian Standard AS 2693-2007 and the jack could not be used to remove the vehicle’s wheels. To fix, a GWM dealer was to replace the vehicle jack adjusting rod. In the event of a tyre failure whilst driving prior to the rectification work being conduct, owners were advised to contact the GWM roadside assistance service. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006024.
