Recalls: Suzuki RH4 Liana
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Recalls: Suzuki RH4 Liana
- In October 2007, a recall was issued for Suzuki Liana models fitted with 1.6- or 1.8-litre engines and manual transmissions. For these vehicles, the shape of the gearshift lever cable retainer clip may impact its bracket if excessive lateral force were applied when shifting to first gear. If sufficient impacts were experienced, the clip may dislodge or break and the cable may detach, rendering the gearshift lever inoperable (PRA 2007/9578).

Problems and faults: Suzuki RH4 Liana
- Clicking noises from the front brakes – particularly noticeable when changing directions – requires revised caliper springs to be installed.
- A ticking noise from the Liana’s engine on start-up may be due to the hydraulic lifters bleeding off pressure (i.e. oil drains out of the lifter body) which requires the lifters to be replaced.
- The remote central locking system may stop working – for 2002 models, the transmitter and receiver may need to be replaced; for 2003 models, the system may only require reprogramming.
- The rear tyres may exhibit inside shoulder wear due to incorrect toe settings.
- The windscreen washers may not spray with sufficient pressure due to a lack of check valves in the hoses; revised hoses were subsequently released.
