Recalls: Maserati M145 GranTurismo
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Recalls: Maserati M145 GranTurismo
Maserati M145 GranTurismo: ball joint fastening nuts
In January 2009, a recall was issued for Maserati M145 GranTurismo vehicles due to the ball joint fastening nuts of the suspension levers potentially not having been tightened to their correct nominal torque (PRA 2009/10558).
Maserati M145 GranTurismo: seatbelt warning chime may not sound
In March 2009, a recall was issued for Maserati M145 GranTurismo vehicles due to the seatbelt warning chime potentially not sounding if the ‘Stop and Go’ function for the front parking sensors was active (PRA 2009/10686).
2009 model year Maserati M145 GranTurismo: rear tie-rods
In September 2011, a recall was issued for ‘2009 model year’ Maserati GranTurismo vehicles. In these vehicles, the rear tie-rods may have been incorrectly machined during production. Depending on road conditions, continued use of vehicles with non-conforming rear tie-rods could lead to damage of the tie-rod. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2011/12808.
Maserati M145 GranTurismo: rear wheels could lock
In December 2011, a recall was issued for two Maserati M145 GranTurismo vehicles – serial numbers – due to a non-conforming gearbox. In these vehicles, the gearbox could cause the rear wheels to lock and may lead to loss of control of the vehicle (PRA 2011/12943).
Maserati M145 GranTurismo: rear brake lights
In March 2012, a recall was issued for Maserati GranTurismo vehicles due to the rear brake lights potentially not meeting their specifications. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please seePRA 2012/13067.
Maserati M145 GranTurismo: tyre pressure monitoring ECU
In November 2012, a recall was issued for Maserati M145 GranTurismo vehicles due a defect in the tyre pressure monitoring electronic control unit which could cause it to give a false reading. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please seePRA 2012/13358.
2008 model year Maserati M145 GranTurismo: rear tie-rods
In June 2013, a recall was issued for ‘2008 model year’ Maserati GranTurismo vehicles to replace both rear tie-rods because they may have insufficient paint coverage. As a result, the threaded part of the tie-rods may suffer from corrosion, preventing proper toe-in adjustment and potentially affecting the steering and handling of the vehicle. 2016 model year Maserati M145 GranTurismo: door latch mechanisms
In November 2015, a recall was issued for ‘2016 model year’ Maserati GranTurismo Sport vehicles with automatic transmissions. In these vehicles, the door latch mechanisms may not have received sufficient heat treatment. The doors may therefore open in the event of a vehicle collision, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants (PRA 2015/15066). The VINs of the recalled Maserati GranTurismo vehicles were as follows:

2015-19 Maserati M145 GranTurismo: airbags may not deploy due to ECU
In August 2019, recall campaign 386 was issued for Maserati M145 GranTurismo vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 1 November 2015 to 31 July 2019. Due to a manufacturing fault, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for the airbag system may be defective. In the event of a collision, the airbags may therefore not deploy – this increased the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17737.
